Abraham Pierson, Sr. served as the first pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Southampton, Long Island, New York (from 1640 to 1647), which is said to be the first Presbyterian Church established in America. The building pictured here (c. 1930-1945) is the fourth edifice, which was constructed in 1843 and enlarged in 1895.

Old First Presbyterian Church in Newark, New Jersey. The historical marker notes that the church was organized in 1666 with Abraham Pierson as pastor.
