Abraham Pierson, Sr. served as the first pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Southampton, Long Island, New York (from 1640 to 1647), which is said to be the first Presbyterian Church established in America. Edward Howell was one of the original members. The building pictured here (c. 1930-1945) is the fourth edifice, which was constructed in 1843 and enlarged in 1895.
Edward Howell is buried at the Old Southampton Cemetery, Southampton, New York.
