Alexander McLeod (1774-1833) was born in Scotland and came to America at the age of eighteen. He became one of the most influential ministers in the Reformed Presbyterian Church in North America. In this work he argues that the Scriptures teach the Lordship of Jesus Christ as mediatorial King over all the nations, and that every civil ruler ought to acknowledge His universal reign and rule. He sets forth this doctrine and answers objections to it with skill and a heart devoted to exalting Christ as Lord of all. 40 pages; a Foreword by Mr. Andrew Myers introduces McLeod to the reader.

“An old Scottish divine once said "Seek to discover as much of the will of God as possible." A simple, undeniable, yet revolutionary truth. Today the Church has forgotten all too much of the will of God, neglecting too many doctrines, forgetting too many eternal truths. In Messiah, Governor of the Nations of the Earth, Alexander McLeod reminds us of a most basic truth of what Jesus Christ our Lord accomplished by His death and resurrection.”

Wayne Sparkman, Director of the PCA Historical Center

“This classic work by Reformed Presbyterian minister Alexander McLeod is a succinct, Biblical, and passionate exposition and defense of Christ’s rule over all things as God’s Mediatorial King. Though short, it is full of Scripture and vivid reasoning from the Bible. Any faithful disciple will be heartened by reading this, seeing the King of Kings exalted in his own understanding.”

Phil Pockras, minister of the Belle Center, Ohio, Reformed Presbyterian Church

“Messiah, Governor of the Nations of the Earth , which originally appeared in 1803 as a response to the adoption of the Constitution of the United States as an atheistic document, is once again a timely reminder that the world is not without a religious foundation whether nations subscribe to His rule or not. Alexander's McLeod's message to America and the world endures: Jesus Christ is Lord of nations.”

Paul Martin, associate minister of Grace and Truth Reformed Presbyterian Church, Harrisonburg, Virginia

“ Christ is King! What sensible and serious minded Christian would ever think of denying the truth of such a statement? And yet, how few fully understand the implications of that glorious truth for the present day, especially as it applies to politics. Read this brief but theologically-packed work by McLeod, and you will find out; not only that Christ is governor of the nations, but also why, and most importantly, how."

Ryan Bever, minister of Grace and Truth Reformed Presbyterian Church, Harrisonburg, Virginia
