Meditations on the Lord's Supper, by Jacob Jones Janeway (Kindle)
Jacob Jones Janeway (1774-1858) was a faithful pastor, educator, and churchman in the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America and the Reformed Dutch Church. He served the Second Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 1799-1828 (for the first portion of the time as a colleague of the celebrated Dr. Ashbel Green). He later served as the President of Rutgers College, and served for many years on the Board of Directors of Princeton Theological Seminary. He was devoted to the work of missions and to the supervision of educational institutions. A prolific author, this particular title is a devotional feast for the believers approaching and leaving the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. In the words of Wayne Sparkman, “There is rich meat here for your soul, served up in convenient portions.” Twenty-nine meditations draw your heart to the Lord Jesus and to communion with Him at the table He has spread for His people. A Foreword by Wayne Sparkman introduces Janeway and this work to the reader.
